@Alpha - I do hope the police can get to the bottom of it - it must make you feel awful to think someone could do that.

How awful Alpha - I hope you get the money back and find out who it was. *hugs you*

It certainly sounds like an inside job, then. I do hope the police catch whoever's responsible.

WE had £100 stolen once- not millions but enough to feel it- it turned out to be the son of one of the builders we had in. He knew pretty much straight away who it was - all v embarrassing. Never need

needed to ge tthe police but I have been told those sorts of thefts are insiders because they dont take anyhting they have to 'fence'. Good luck- you are most likely to get that back you know.

Yes, it's either one of them, or someone from their circle. As you say, they could have mentioned something, purposefully or otherwise. The police are checking them all out.

It does sound like it; or I think all the other things you mentioned would have been taken, too.

I know it's horrible to think of people you should be able to trust stealing from you, but yes, it does narrow it down at least.

I first read LoTR around 30 years ago. After reading the final page, I immediately started reading it over again. *g*

In 2007, I discovered fanfic and soon decided to try my hand at it. Through a stroke of pure luck, I found a home in the Garden of Ithilien Writer's Workshop and have been scribling ever since.

My first and greatest love is Lothlórien and its Silvan inhabitants, but I occasionally dabble in Noldor, and those stories are indeed the only ones I've posted on this archive - so far....

Stories by Lissas Elves

Title: Talk of the Town by Lissas Elves
Rated: Teen [Reviews - 9]
Summary:

A lady of Tirion shares a bit of society gossip - and perhaps more information about herself than she intended.

WARNINGS for overuse of dashes and abuse of semicolons, innuendo (lots of that), suggestions of less than paradisical living conditions among the inhabitants of Tirion, uncanonical gossip, and other un-Tolkienish contents.

As most readers probably do not possess the same level of breath control as the lady of Tirion, I've decided to post this story in very short instalments; hopefully this will give readers a chance to catch their breath.
