@Glorfindel. I'm on it. I had to wait for the scientific police to finish their job first. I have the locksmith coming round tomorrow - let's hope I have enough money to pay him!

@Ziggy. Rereading chapter 16 will definitely cheer me up - thank god I still have my laptop.

Speaking of neighbours, one came to my window and gave me two lettuces from her garden, and another made me biscuits - I wanted to cry.

It does, and potentially someone you know and have trusted implicitly. Even my neighbours are being questioned.

@Alpha - I do hope the police can get to the bottom of it - it must make you feel awful to think someone could do that.

It certainly sounds like an inside job, then. I do hope the police catch whoever's responsible.

I am a middle school language arts teacher and lifelong fan of Tolkien, having read the series, along with the Book of Lost Tales I & II, The Silmarillion, and The Children of Hurin.

In addition to teaching, I am a BSA Assistant Master, a semi-pro photographer and sponsor my school's yearbook and newspaper. I love doing almost anything outdoors.

I believe that to really be able to teach others how to do something, you must be able to do it yourself, so I started writing a story when I was given a Gifted Language Arts class where I could truly teach the craft of writing, not just the mechanics of writing. I am really kind of new to "true" story writing, but I have learned so much during my endeavors.

What a wonderful journey it has been for me!
