Submission Rules
- This is an archive for fanfiction based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien only. All stories, regardless of genre, rating, pairing are welcome.
- Stories must be submitted to the proper category. The submission form allows you to choose multiple categories for your story, and we worked very hard to add that functionality for you. So please do NOT add your story multiple times!
- "Please read", "Untitled", etc. are not acceptable titles or summaries.
- Correct grammar and spelling are expected of all stories submitted to this site. We will not turn away stories for a few typos. However, the site administrators reserve the right to request corrections in submissions with a multitude of grammar and/or spelling errors that render a story nearly illegible. If such a request is ignored, the story will be deleted.
- All stories must be rated correctly and give readers the choice to avoid material they do not want to read or search out the material they would like to read by making use of the Content field.
- Stories with multiple chapters should be archived as such and NEVER as separate stories. Upload the first chapter of your story, then go to Manage Stories in your account to add additional chapters. If you have trouble with this, please contact the site administrator or ask a friend to help you.
- Authors who are new to this archive, yet who have already produced a great body of work, are asked to contact the administrator of the archive before uploading a great number of old stories at once. Faerie is intended as an archive of all stories, old or new, yet the simultaneous upload of a large number of older stories at once poses a problem for the readers of the stories, many of whom rely on the "Most Recent" page to find out what new stories have been produced by other authors of the archive.
- Harrassment and bullying of other writers or commenters via such means as flames or MSTs is not allowed. This archive is intended to be a peaceful place where all fans of Tolkien fanfiction can come together, whether they prefer slash or het, elves or hobbits, stories with OFCs or apocryphal HoME canon. Please respect that the preferences of other writers and readers do not need to follow your own preferences.
Submissions found to be in violation of these rules may be removed and the author's account suspended at the discretion of the site administrators and/or moderators. The site administrators reserve the right to modify these rules as needed.
