Oh, this was awesome! It was better then I imagined even, after reading the excerpt. Thanks! I love how Boromir could get excited when Eowyn seemed 'male', and how Theodred felt that he had to explain to her what the situation was really like. Eowyn seems like she would have possibly gotten great emotional scars out of it, and instead she molds the whole situation so she gets what she wants just as well. Going back to Canon after this seems... cruel, but I guess it being war time would make it that way. Poor Eowyn, poor child, loosing both men in such short time. No wonder she gets involved with her own brother in law, who she did not really get to meet until she is a widow (in some ways twice over). I love the bed scene between the 3, that really is a great piece of writing, but then you knew that already, I think.

Author's Response: Thank you so much. This really took my life over when the idea came to me - almost fully formed. I had never written anything quite like it - neither quite so serious, nor with that sort of dynamic. **I love the bed scene between the 3, that really is a great piece of writing, but then you knew that already, I think.** I had once written a threesome (in Brotherhood) but it was so very, very different. So I am genuinely happy that you think this is a great piece of writing - I thought it stood up quite well (Um - that could be a very bad pun!) but it is always good to get confirmation. I can see the return to canon would be cruel. And yet I can even see her thinking that, both husband and protector dead, her only option is to ride to war herself to avenge them and do what she can to protect her son. There are also non-canon paths it could take - one day I might come back and explore this.
