wow! First novel! I'll buy it- hope you are fabulously successful- it's tough out there right now but you have a great style. So much better than some of the utter tripe that IS published.

re your reply to my last review- Yes, I had noticed nothing new recently. I do hope there are lots of ideas sloshing around in your imagination, read yto be written when you have time xx
Author's Response:Loads of ideas! The trouble is, I'm writing a lot of original fics now (historical). I just sent my first novel off to a publisher and thought I'd have time to write more Tolkien stuff, then got started on another novel instead! But I am working on a tongue-in-cheek Quest AU for an event that Glorfindel's organising.
I love this story- it's beautifully visualised and written so delicately. Elrohir's gentle understanding, Legolas' longing...and the comparision between Gimli's and Legolas' reactions to their gifts. It brings to mind that lovely image of Legolas looking at the bow in wonder, closely examining it. Perfect.
Author's Response:Yes, that image was what came into my head when I was writing it. Legolas looked completely besotted, didn't he!
Thanks for commenting, Ziggy. I haven't had the time to write anything new recently, so it's a treat to get a review on a story that's been up for a while :)
A beautiful little story.
Author's Response:I'm sorry I missed your review at the time - I've only just spotted it now! Thanks for taking the time to comment and I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Awww, Legolas and Elrohir's love nearly had me crying back there! I like the idea of the Galadhrim bow being made from Elrohirs hair, it's a very nice touch.
Author's Response:Thanks! I'm so pleased that the story moved you. That's such a lovely compliment.
As soon as I saw that Legolas' bow was strung with elf-hair, I just knew I had to write a story to explain it :)
Thanks for taking the time to review :)
Lovely- it had quite passed me by that it was strung with elf-hair. As always, lovely prose, perfectly balanced and lush descriptions.
Author's Response:Thanks Ziggy! The fact that Legolas' bow was strung with elf-hair had passed me by too. I had intended to write a piece about Galadriel's gift to Gimli, in response to a challenge on hair, and it was only on re-reading the gift-giving section that I realised that Legolas' bow was strung with hair. As soon as I saw that I knew what I had to write :)
Another short but beatiful story! The bow is so much more than a weapon but perhaps Legolas enjoys Gimlis teasing a bit and won't begrudge him this thankful opportunity.
Tinara
Author's Response:Thanks, Tinara! Yes, I think Legolas is quite happy to endure Gimli's teasing. All he cares is that he has finally had this sign from Elrohir :)
Thanks for reviewing :)
This was absolutely sweet and so in character for all three of the main characters.
- Erulisse (one L)
Author's Response:Oh thank you! I'm glad you found the characters convincing.
Thanks for reviewing :)
I love the interpretation you have given Legolas' gift. So romantic! Thank you!
Author's Response:I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wrote it when I found myself wondering if Legolas knew the elf whose hair was used to string his bow.
Thank you for reviewing :)
:) So romantic and what a clever idea, to have hair given as a bethrothal gift when it is used as a string!
Author's Response:Thank you! It was written in response to a challenge, with the prompt being 'hair'. As soon as I remembered that Legolas' bow had been strung with elf-hair, I knew what I wanted to write :)
Thank you for reviewing. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
